Rez Kiyn - TomTom : 4-2

In december, I bought a TomTom GPS receiver and installed TomTom navigator 5 on a PDA.

Although GPS devices offer a limitless number of advantages, I'm not too fond of GPS devices, since most of the time I know a better route then the tin man and sometimes it simply doesn't know your location.

Had I gone mad ? No, it was a Christmas present for the girlfriend, but a couple of weeks later, we split up and I kep the TomTom for myself. You never know when I may come in handy.

So, now, we are 1 month later and the score is 4-2 for me. Some examples :
- Last weekend I entered the address of a friend of mine and TomTom showed me a route, which was 9 kilometers longer than my usual one. And changing the planning preferences didn't change anything : 1 point for me
- That evening we drove to a restaurant, we couldn't find and TomTom saved the day : 1 point for TomTom
- On Wednesday, I had to go to Heist-op-den-Berg and he routed me to a street with the same name in a completely different city. Again, everything was entered right : 1 point for me
- On the way back, it was kinda foggy (You could see 1 meter ahead) and the route back was under construction and TomTom got me home within a reasonable time frame : 1 point for TomTom
- Yesterday I had to drive to Asse and TomTom guided me again to the same street in a different village (very strange) : 1 point for me.
- I changed its trajectory and finally he found the destination and I managed to get there 5 minutes and 5 kilometers faster than the proposed route : 1 point for me

I must admin : a GPS is handy but not for people with a knack for orientation
